Location: Yellowstone National Park. “We went on a snow coach tour of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone in the park in late December,” explains Holdorf. “It was a beautiful day, and with all the snow that had fallen in the park down at the falls, it created a huge ice dome. It’s all about the light. I repeat, it’s all about the light. Don’t get me wrong—there are many other factors of great significance. Aspects that carry a magnitude of weight are composition, the quality of the subject, the decisive moment, background distractions and technical aspects of depth of field and focus.
